Early morning studies paid off for Suva Sangam School dux, Manisha Benazir, who took out the top academic award yesterday at the school’s prize giving ceremony in Suva.
Manisha, 18, who joined Suva Sangam College this year missed her dad dearly as she went up to the stage to collect her various awards. She not only won the Dux award, but the syndicate award for computer, accounting and economics, best commerce and computer student for Year 13 award and lastly she won the year 13 syndicate award.
“It’s really surprising and fascinating and it feels really wonderful,” Manisha said after the prizegiving.
“I used to wake up at 3am and study till 3.30am to 4am because I believe when you study in the morning there is a lot of peace and quiet to help you concentrate,” said Manisha.
She acknowledged her teachers for the weekly tests which were very helpful in preparing her for the main exams.
