The newly appointed British High Commissioner to Fiji, His Excellency Kanbar Hossein-Bor, visited the Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, Nadi on the 1st of September, 2025.

He was warmly received at Saravana Bhavan by the Chief Executive Officer of TISI Sangam Fiji, who welcomed him on behalf of the organisation.

During his visit, His Excellency engaged with Sangam members and expressed admiration for the cultural and spiritual significance of the temple – Fiji’s largest Hindu temple and a landmark of South Indian heritage.

The visit highlighted opportunities for stronger relations between TISI Sangam Fiji and the British High Commission, particularly in areas such as:

  • Education & Scholarships – exploring pathways for Sangam students to access UK learning opportunities.
  • Community Development – potential collaborations on projects that empower youth, women, and disadvantaged groups.
  • Cultural Exchange – promoting understanding and appreciation of cultural heritage.
  • Climate & Sustainability – areas of shared interest in building resilience and supporting local initiatives.

TISI Sangam Fiji looks forward to continued engagement with His Excellency and the British High Commission as Sangam prepares to mark its Centennial Celebration in 2026.
